Jaguars place CB Blackmon on IR, add LB

Published

on

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed cornerback Will Blackmon on injured reserve Monday and signed linebacker Khairi Fortt off the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad.

Blackmon suffered a broken finger in a loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 and did not play Sunday in the Jaguars’ loss to the Bengals.

Blackmon, 30, started four games for the Jaguars this season and finished with 30 tackles, a forced fumble and a sack.

Fortt will help a position where the Jaguars are without Paul Posluszny for the season and lost Jeremiah George to a high ankle sprain against Cincinnati.

Fortt, a fourth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints this year, started the season on short-term injured reserve. The Saints waived him Oct. 6 and the Bengals added him the next day and then put him on the practice squad.

The Jaguars play the Dallas Cowboys in London this week.
