When you think of teams competing for Super Bowls year in and year out, one of the teams that don’t come to mind is the Jacksonville Jaguars and for good reason.

Not only hasn’t Jacksonville seen postseason play in a decade, the franchise has never even been to a Super Bowl, however, general manager David Caldwell believes Blake Bortles is the man to lead them to the promise land.

“I’ve said this time and time again: ‘I think we can win a lot of games with Blake; I think we can win a Super Bowl with Blake,” Caldwell said. “I think he needs to improve and I think we need to improve around him, too, in order for that to happen.”

There are certain characteristics in Bortles that makes Caldwell feel this way.

“I think the future is bright for him,” Caldwell said. “I have a lot of confidence in him. I know he has the makeup in terms of intelligence, competitiveness, his hard work, his effort, so if he has those things I think the rest of it will come.”

In order for Caldwell’s vision to come to light, Bortles’ accuracy will have to improve. Through his first three seasons, his completion percentage is a mere 58.8 percent.
