Hall of Famer Sapp arrested
Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp was arrested Monday morning in Phoenix for soliciting a prostitute and assault.
Two female victims suffered minor injuries in the alleged assault, Phoenix Police Chief Joseph Yahner said, according to FOXSports.com.
Sapp, 42, was in Arizona to cover the Super Bowl for NFL Network, which suspended him Monday after news of the arrest.
Sapp, who has worked for NFL Network since 2008, is suspended without pay “pending the outcome of ongoing police investigation,” NFL Network spokesperson Alex Riethmiller said.
Sapp also was arrested in 2010 and 2014 on charges of domestic battery. The 2010 charges were dropped.
Sapp is the second TV analyst to be arrested for soliciting a prostitute recently. Greg Anthony, a former NBA player who works for CBS, was arrested Jan. 16 in Washington.
