Giants WR Cruz leaves practice with calf injury
The Sports Xchange
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz pulled up with a calf injury during his first attempted full practice in a month.
Cruz missed most of last season with a torn patellar tendon and was out for the first three games of the 2015 season with a calf injury he said was unrelated to his 2014 knee injury and subsequent surgery.
Cruz said on Tuesday that the only thing that would keep him out of the lineup this week would be the Giants’ medical team. The setback makes it highly unlikely Cruz will play and leaves the Giants short-handed at wide receiver.
New York released slot receiver Preston Parker and worked out veterans Wes Welker and Hakeem Nicks on Tuesday.
