ARLINGTON, Texas — Dan Bailey made up for a rare miss at the end of regulation to nail a 49-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Dallas Cowboys past Houston Texans 20-17 Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium.

The Cowboys were able to withstand three turnovers and Houston’s fourth-quarter rally to win their fourth game in a row since a season-opening loss to San Francisco.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo passed for 324 yards and two touchdowns, and his long pass to receiver Dez Bryant in overtime set up Bailey’s game winner. Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray added his NFL rushing lead with 136 yards on the ground.

Dallas’ winning streak will be on the line next Sunday at defending Super Bowl champion Seattle. The Cowboys are 2-0 on the road this season. The Texans return to Houston to face Indianapolis on Thursday night.

Saints 37, Buccaneers 31, OT

NEW ORLEANS — Khiry Robinson plowed 18 yards over left guard in overtime for a touchdown to lift New Orleans over Tampa Bay at Mercedes Benz Superdome.

The Saints trailed 31-20 with 13:28 left but scored the final 11 points of regulation to force overtime. They won despite a subpar performance by quarterback Drew Brees, who completed 35 of 57 passes for 371 yards but was picked off three times.

Panthers 31, Bears 24

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tight end Greg Olsen caught a 6-yard touchdown pass with 2:18 remaining against his former team as Carolina hung on at Bank of America Stadium.

Cam Newton’s second scoring strike to Olsen allowed the Panthers to complete a comeback from a 14-point hole. Two Chicago turnovers in the last six minutes allowed the Panthers to scoring the tying and winning points. The Bears also lost a fourth-down fumble when quarterback Jay Cutler was sacked with 1:07 to play.

Colts 20, Ravens 13

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck threw his 14th touchdown pass of the season and also scored on a 13-yard run to lead the Colts past Baltimore at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Baltimore, which had a three-game winning streak halted, was kept out of the end zone until running back Justin Forsett scored on an 11-yard run with 8:56 left in the game.

Bills 17, Lions 14

DETROIT — Dan Carpenter made a 58-yard field goal with four seconds left to give Buffalo the win at Ford Field.

Carpenter’s game winner came 17 seconds after Detroit kicker Alex Henery missed his third field-goal attempt of the half, a 50-yard try.

Browns 29, Titans 28

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Cleveland snapped its 12-game road losing streak in incredible fashion.

Trailing 28-3 late in the first half, the Browns reeled Tennessee in and completed the rally when quarterback Brian Hoyer hit wide receiver Travis Benjamin with a 6-yard touchdown pass with 1:09 left for the win at LP Field. Cleveland hadn’t won a road game since Dec. 1, 2012, in Oakland.

Eagles 34, Rams 28

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia scored touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams, but they still had to hold on for dear life at Lincoln Financial Field.

Special teams got the Eagles off and running as, for the second straight week, they blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown. The Rams had the ball on their 20 when James Casey, a reserve tight end, knifed through to block the attempt by Johnny Hekker. Chris Maragos scooped it up on the 10 and scored to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead with 14:37 left in the first quarter.

Steelers 17, Jaguars 9

JACKSONVILLE, FL. — Pittsburgh backup safety Brice McCain intercepted a fourth-quarter pass and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown to help the Steelers pin a 17-9 defeat on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

McCain’s theft came with 11:32 left in the game and came against Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles who was making his first start at home in the regular season since taking the starting job away from Chad Henne two games earlier.

Bortles completed 22 of 36 passes for 191 yards. He threw two interceptions.

Giants 30, Falcons 20

East Rutherford, N.J. — New York Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., making his NFL debut, finished with a team-leading 44 yards on four receptions, including a 15-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to help give the Giants the win at MetLife Stadium.

The win boosted the Giants’ regular season record to 3-2, the first time since Dec. 30, 2012, that the Giants have had a winning record at any point during the regular season.
