Florida State defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. joined the parade of college football players announcing their intention to enter the 2015 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-3, 294-pound Edwards said Thursday that he decided to skip his senior season with the Seminoles. He led Florida State this year in tackles for loss with 11 and had three sacks.

Edwards is listed as the No. 11 defensive end prospect in 2015 by NFLDraftScout.com.

“I truly hope that I will be lucky enough to have a successful NFL career, and do Florida State proud for years to come, as so many of its alumni have done,” Edwards said in a statement.

Edwards leaves Florida State having been part of a BCS national championship and three ACC title teams. The Seminoles were undefeated for the past two years before losing to Oregon in the Rose Bowl in Jan. 1, which turned out to be Edwards’ last college game.
