The staff of experts at Football Insiders weighed in on who will win the AFC South.  Without any further ado, here are the results:

John Owning-

1. Indianapolis Colts
2. Houston Texans
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Tennessee Titans

The Indianapolis Colts are the only team with a viable quarterback in the division. it just so happens that quarterback is Andrew Luck, who is the best young quarterback in the league. Therefore, they should win the division easily. The Houston Texans were just dealt a huge blow with Arian Foster’s injury, but on the back of J.J. Watt and the defense, they should be able to edge out the Jaguars. Blake Bortles hasn’t shown that he will develop into anything special and even though the Jaguars upgraded the trenches, it won’t be enough to overtake the Texans. The Tennessee Titans are a woefully inept team that could vie for the No. 1 overall pick once again next year.

The Indianapolis Colts have the best quarterback in the division and their offense is loaded, therefore they’ll win it with relative ease…..If Arian Foster wasn’t hurt I would have picked the Houston Texans to finish second, but he is and I don’t know how they’re going to score points…..Therefore….the Jacksonville Jaguars will be a surprise team and finish near .500.  Blake Bortles will take a step forward and the team finally has weapons around him…..Tennessee will bring up the rear with their rookie quarterback and although the Titans should be better, they still have more questions than answers on both sides of the football.

The Indianapolis Colts are easily the best team in the division, and may be the best team in the conference. The Houston Texans will miss Arian Foster, but they’ll find a way to hang around with that defense if they get any kind of play out of their quarterback position. The Jacksonville Jaguars should take some giant leaps forward this season, but I think they’re a year away. I absolutely love what the Tennessee Titans did in the draft, but it’s going to take some time for it to all come together.

Barring anything happening to Andrew Luck, look for the Indianapolis Colts to run away with the AFC South. Last year, Indy won the division by two games, but I don’t suspect it’ll be that close this time around. Houston, Jacksonville and Tennessee all have major question marks at quarterback. Maybe Marcus Mariota will explode onto the scene in year one, but even the reigning Heisman trophy winner will need time to develop.

Michael Lombardo-

4. Jaguars

This is the most predictable division in the NFL. The Colts are the clear-cut favorites and only cemented that status by adding Andre Johnson, Frank Gore and Phillip Dorsett to an already loaded offense. The Texans are not far behind and should challenge for a playoff berth in Bill O’Brien’s second season, but their lack of a franchise quarterback lowers their ceiling. The Titans and Jaguars are both on the come-up but are another year away from contending. I have the Titans finishing ahead of the Jaguars only because I have more confidence in Tennessee’s coaching staff led by Ken Whisenhunt and Dick LeBeau.
