The Sports Xchange
Minneapolis firefighters rescued two workers on the roof of the Minnesota Vikings’ new stadium under construction.
The Minneapolis Fire Department confirmed Wednesday that one person fell into a crevice and was trapped on the roof. The individual was stabilized and transported to an area hospital with injuries.
Another construction worker also was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
The workers fell at 7:45 a.m. while performing roofing work on the building in downtown Minneapolis.
Construction on the $1 billion stadium just passed the halfway mark last month. U.S. Bank Stadium is expected to open in time for the 2016 season.
