The Arizona Cardinals signed rookie linebacker Shaq Riddick and wide receiver J.J. Nelson to four-year contracts on Tuesday.
Riddick, selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, played his final college season at West Virginia as a graduate transfer from Gardner-Webb. He was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year after starting seven of 12 games and totaling 27 tackles, seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2014.
Nelson, also chosen in the fifth round, led FBS with four kickoff returns for touchdowns last season and averaged 38.3 yards per return at Alabama-Birmingham. He was named a Walter Camp first-team All-American and finished his career as the school leader in all-purpose yards with 4,670.
Nelson also ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.28 seconds) at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.
