Favre visits Green Bay to honor Starr

Published

on

Former Packers great Brett Favre returned to Green Bay on Monday afternoon to attend a tribute luncheon for Hall of Famer Bart Starr, according to reports.

ESPN reported that Favre had no immediate plans to attend Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field, but WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee reported he was expected to make an appearance.

Favre will be among those at the luncheon to honor Starr, who is recovering from a stroke and not scheduled to attend the event, according to ESPN.com. The event will include Favre, Bart Starr Jr. and Hall of Famer Steve Young in what is being billed as a “Chalk Talk Luncheon” that benefits the Rawhide Boys Ranch, which Starr co-founded.

The luncheon was scheduled to take place at Brett Favre’s Steakhouse located near Lambeau Field.

Favre and the franchise have been in the process of healing an acrimonious divorce that occurred when the team moved forward with Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback.

Six years removed from the franchise he represented for 16 years, Favre will be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame on July 18, 2015 during the annual Hall of Fame Induction Banquet at Lambeau Field. Also that night, the Packers will retire Favre’s No. 4.
