Falcons keep backup QB Yates
The Atlanta Falcons have signed backup quarterback T.J. Yates to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Yates was acquired in a trade last season with the Houston Texans. He gives the Falcons a veteran backup to starting quarterback Matt Ryan.
While the Falcons were finalizing a contract with Yates, the agent for defensive tackle Corey Peters said his client had agreed to a three-year contract worth close to $10 million to play for the Arizona Cardinals.
Peters, a former third-round pick out of Kentucky, is recovering from Achilles surgery.
