Ex-NFL lineman Cook dies at 36

Damion Cook, an offensive lineman who played in parts of seven NFL seasons, died after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 36.
The athletic department at his alma mater, Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla., confirmed Cook’s death on Friday.
Cook, a Nashville, Tenn., native, appeared in 26 NFL games at guard and made 10 starts from 2001-09.
Cook signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2001. He made his NFL debut with the Ravens in 2002, playing in 13 games over the next three seasons. He started six games at guard for the Cleveland Browns in 2004, then after a four-year hiatus, started four games for the Detroit Lions in 2008.
Cook also played in the Canadian Football League, the Arena Football League and the United Football League.
