With the No. 20 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected former USC wide receiver Nelson Agholor. Here’s what our Football Insiders experts thought of the pick:

———————————————————————————————————————

“The Philadelphia Eagles lost Jeremy Maclin in free agency, but added Jeremy Maclin in the draft.  That’s not a typo; USC wide receiver Nelson Agholor is a clone of Maclin and he comes at a fraction of the price.  Chip Kelly tried his best to move up for Marcus Mariota, but he’s probably better off keeping his team in tact and adding a player like Agholor.” – Charlie Bernstein

“Be honest, you didn’t think there was a chance the Eagles were going to just sit there and take someone at No. 20, did you? I certainly didn’t. They definitely needed the help at receiver so I can’t really fault them, though personally I had a couple guys on the board above Nelson Agholor. Yes, he’s been compared to Jeremy Maclin, the man he’s replacing. But that’s the absolute ceiling here. To me, he’s just another guy to add to a group of guys in Philadelphia. However, that might be all he needs to be in Chip Kelly’s system.” – Devon Jeffreys

“The names I hear come up in comparison to Nelson Agholor are Randall Cobb, Jeremy Maclin and Jarvis Landry. In other words, this is a guy made for Chip Kelly’s offense. I’m pretty sure Eagles fans can be happy even without Mariota right now.” – Alex Hickey

———————————————————————————————————————

“A month ago, many believed USC’s Nelson Agholor was a second-round draft pick, but the more NFL teams learned about the young man, the more it became apparent he would be one of the top receivers taken. I called several of Agholor’s high school football and basketball games, and there is no question the Philadelphia Eagles got a great young man who can turn into a solid NFL receiver. There is nothing Agholor can’t or won’t do, and while he’s a great athlete, he’s an even better teammate. The Eagles may not have made the big splash by trading up for Marcus Mariota, but they made a selection they’ll be happy about for a long time.” – Pat Donovan
