Dolphins WR Parker has foot surgery
The Sports Xchange
Miami Dolphins first-round pick DeVante Parker underwent successful foot surgery Friday.
Parker had surgery at Doctors Hospital at Baptist Health South Florida in Coral Gables, the team announced. The surgery reportedly was performed to replace the screw inserted in his foot last year.
Parker, who had foot issues in college and missed seven games last year at Louisville, has been impressive in Miami’s rookie camp and organized team activities.
Parker will not participate in minicamp and will miss the start of training camp but will be ready for the start of the regular season, according to the Miami Herald.
Parker was Miami’s first-round selection (14th overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft. He played in 42 career games with 18 starts at Louisville and recorded 156 receptions for 2,775 yards (17.8 average) and 33 touchdowns. He caught 43 passes for 855 yards and five touchdowns as a senior last season.
