The team also waived defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy.

The 6-foot-2, 317-pound Barnett joins Miami after spending time with the Cleveland Browns during the offseason as well as a stint on their practice squad during the 2014 season. He originally signed with Cleveland as an undrafted college free agent out of Oklahoma State in 2014.

The 6-5, 305-pound Martin originally signed with the Houston Texans in 2014 as an undrafted college free agent out of Central Florida. He had stints on the practice squad of the New England Patriots, Texans and San Francisco 49ers during the 2014 season. He was waived by San Francisco on June 15.

The 6-0, 193-pound De La Cruz initially tried out for the Dolphins during rookie minicamp. He played collegiately at Louisville.
