Dolphins re-sign OT Fox
The Miami Dolphins re-signed offensive tackle Jason Fox to a two-year contract Thursday.
The deal is worth $2.5 million, according to the Miami Herald.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Fox is entering his fifth season in the NFL in 2015 and second year with the Dolphins after spending the first three years of his career with the Detroit Lions.
“We are excited that we have reached an agreement with Jason to keep him with the Miami Dolphins,” general manager Dennis Hickey said in a statment. “He was a very positive addition for us last season both on the field and in the community.”
In his career, Fox has played in 22 games and made five starts, including the final two games of 2014 at right tackle. Against Minnesota in Week 16, Fox helped block for an offense that produced a season-high 493 yards and quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed a career-high four touchdown passes. In Week 17 against the New York Jets, Fox helped pave the way for a 97-yard touchdown run by running back Lamar Miller, the longest run in franchise history and the third longest run in NFL history.
