Dolphins officially name Williams as DL coach
Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin officially named Terrell Williams as defensive line coach on Friday.
Williams, 40, had taken a college job as defensive line coach at Florida just a month earlier.
Williams comes to the Dolphins with 17 years of coaching experience, including three seasons as the defensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders and 14 years in the college ranks. He joins the Dolphins from Florida, having been named the school’s defensive line coach on Jan. 3.
Prior to joining the Raiders, Williams spent two seasons (2010-11) as defensive line coach at Texas A&M. He came to A&M after four years as the defensive line coach at Purdue (2006-09) and two years at Akron (2004-05).
The Dolphins’ defensive line job previously was held by Kacy Rodgers, who left in January to become the defensive coordinator for the New York Jets.
