Dolphins claim QB Thomas

The Miami Dolphins claimed former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Logan Thomas off waivers Sunday.

To make room on the roster, the Dolphins placed running back Jay Ajayi on the reserve/injured/ designated for return list.

Thomas was released Saturday after the Cardinals traded for former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Matt Barkley on Friday.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Thomas was originally selected by the Cardinals in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

In his career, Thomas has appeared in two games and completed one of his nine passes that went for an 81-yard touchdown. Thomas played collegiately at Virginia Tech where he appeared in 47 games and started his final 40 at quarterback.
