Cowboys’ Randle cited for pot possession

Published

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was cited for marijuana possession Wednesday morning in Wichita, Kan.

Police discovered the drugs while responding to an alleged domestic-violence incident.

Randle, 23, and a 22-year-old woman were found arguing in a hotel room at about 3 a.m. and police observed marijuana in the room.

Randle, who is from Wichita, was not booked into jail, but he was cited for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, police said. The police reportedly were still investigating the domestic-violence complaint.

The woman, who reportedly has a child with Randle, told police that he was at the hotel to see the child.

This is the second arrest for Randle in the past four months. In October, he was arrested for shoplifting underwear and cologne from a store in Frisco, Texas.

Randle, a fifth-round pick in 2013, rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns in 2014 and could be in line for more playing time if the Cowboys do not re-sign DeMarco Murray, who led the NFL in rushing in 2014.
