Cowboys LB Durant out for season
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Justin Durant tore his right biceps in the second half of Monday’s loss to the Washington Redskins and is out for the rest of the season.
Durant is “in the top three, four performers” for the Cowboys’ defense in 2014, owner Jerry Jones said early Tuesday morning confirming the injury.
“Man, I just can’t seem to catch a break,” Durant said. “It’s hard. It’s very, very tough.”
Durant was the team’s leading tackler for the season and replaced injured middle linebacker Sean Lee as the team’s defensive play-caller. He was credited with 10 tackles Monday.
Rookie Anthony Hitchens could be pushed into a starting role or the Cowboys might contemplate moving linebacker Bruce Carter back to the weak side.
