Cowboys’ Bryant headlines Week 15 awards
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his three-touchdown performance Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bryan hauled in six catches for 114 yards in the Cowboys’ 38-27 win over Eagles. It was the first time Bryant has scored three touchdowns in a game, and that output pushed his total to 13 touchdowns for the season. He has 79 catches for 1,148 yards.
Cincinnati Bengals rookie running back Jeremy Hill was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after he helped his team spoil the debut of Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel with a 30-0 victory. Hill also started for the first time and had 25 carries for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
Detroit Lions safety Glover Quin won the NFC defensive award. His pick-six helped rally the Lions’ 16-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He has six interceptions this season, which is tied for the league lead.
Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib took AFC defensive honor. His fourth-quarter interception of San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers sealed the 22-10 victory.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro won the NFC special teams award. He kicked four field goals to provide all of the Cardinals’ points in their 12-6 win over the St. Louis Rams last Thursday night. He hit field goals from 23, 44, 46 and 51 yards.
Kansas City Chiefs punt returner De’Anthony Thomas took the AFC special teams honor. His 81-yard first-quarter punt return touchdown helped spark the Chiefs’ 31-13 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
