Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton did not practice on Thursday and his status for Monday’s game against the New York Jets is unclear.

After injuring his knee in a loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, the Colts said they would move forward with the idea that their No. 1 receiver would miss Monday night’s game.

“It looks like he may miss some time,” head coach Chuck Pagano allowed Sunday night.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said Sunday that Hilton was diagnosed with a “really bad bruised” knee and the team would err on the side of caution for a few weeks.

Hilton signed a five-year, $65 million contract extension with the Colts before the start of the season. He led the team in 2014 with 82 receptions for 1,345 yards and seven touchdowns and had seven receptions for 88 yards Sunday in a loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Earlier in the week, Hilton said the swelling had gone down and he would be day-to-day.

Indianapolis added veteran Andre Johnson as a free agent, but he was targeted 10 times and totaled four catches for 24 yards in his Colts’ debut.
