Colts Sign Pagano To Extension; Retain Grigson
The Colts make the right move keeping Pagano; The wrong move keeping Grigson.
In a move that can be construed as a surprise, the Indianapolis Colts have agreed to a contract extension with head coach Chuck Pagano.
Pagano won 11 games in each of his first two seasons and advanced one round farther in the playoffs each of those years. In 2015, the team dropped to .500 as quarterback Andrew Luck missed more than half the year.
General manager Ryan Grigson, who has missed on seemingly every pick not named Andrew Luck has also been retained.
Terms of Pagano’s new deal are not yet known, but given that the team would have a certain amount of egg on its face if they let him go, the head coach likely segued that into a nice payday.
