Colts sign G Herremans
The Indianapolis Colts agreed to terms with free agent guard Todd Herremans on Sunday.
Terms were not disclosed but a source told ESPN that Herremans, 32, received a one-year deal that could be worth as much as $3.5 million.
The Philadelphia Eagles released the 6-foot-6, 321-pound Herremans on Feb. 27 after 10 seasons. He started 124 of 127 career regular-season games and eight postseason contests from 2005 to 2014 with the Eagles. He has started at least six games at four different positions along the offensive line, while also seeing significant playing time at tackle.
In 2013, Herremans started all 16 games for the third time in his career and was a part of an offense that ranked first in the NFL in rushing yards, second in net yards and fourth in points scored. The Eagles set franchise records in points and net yards, as running back LeSean McCoy led the league with a single-season team-record 1,607 rushing yards.
From 2011-12, Herremans started 24 consecutive games at tackle and from 2006-08, he played in 48 consecutive contests. Last season, he started all eight games he appeared in before being placed on injured reserve on Nov. 5.
Herremans was selected by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Saginaw Valley State.
