Colts’ S Landry suspended; WR Rogers cut
Indianapolis Colts safety LaRon Landry on Monday was suspended without pay for the next four games of the 2014 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.
Landry will be eligible to return to the Colts’ active roster on Oct. 27 following the team’s Oct. 26 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Earlier in the day, the Colts cut Da’Rick Rogers after finding out the wide receiver had been arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
“We have released Da’Rick Rogers for detrimental conduct,” head coach Chuck Pagano told an Indianapolis television station. “We’ve released him. [It] would be inappropriate to speak further on that.”
Rogers who played college ball at Tennessee and led the SEC in receptions as a sophomore, left the Volunteers after reportedly failing a drug test.
The Colts also signed safety Dewey McDonald to the active roster after cutting Rogers.
The team also placed outside linebacker Robert Mathis on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.
