The Indianapolis Colts signed wide receiver Griff Whalen from the practice squad to the active roster on Thursday.

The Colts also signed defensive end Gannon Conway to the practice squad and placed inside linebacker Josh McNary on the exempt/commissioner permission list.

The Colts are preparing to play the New England Patriots on Sunday in the AFC Championship game.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Whalen has played in 19 career games (three starts) with the Colts and has caught 26 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns. He has returned 34 punts for 291 yards (8.6 average) and 16 kickoffs for 401 yards (25.1 average).

Whalen has played in two postseason contests (one start) and recorded seven receptions for 93 yards, while returning two punts for six yards and one kickoff for 16 yards. He was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2012.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Conway rejoins the Colts after he was waived following the preseason on Aug. 30, 2014. He was originally signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State on May 13, 2014 and was signed by the Colts as a free agent on June 11.

McNary was charged Wednesday with rape of a woman last month. He has played in 20 career games (four starts) and has totaled 54 tackles and one-half sack. He has also recorded six tackles in four postseason contests. McNary was signed by the Colts as a free agent on April 11, 2013.
