Colts hire Hostler as WRs coach
The Indianapolis Colts hired longtime assistant Jim Hostler as wide receivers coach and announced four other coaching changes on Friday.
The team also named Tim Berbenich as defensive assistant, Hal Hunter as offensive line coach, Brad White as outside linebackers coach and moved former wide receivers coach Charlie Williams to running backs coach.
Hostler holds 25 years of coaching experience, including 15 seasons in the NFL. In 2014, he served as the senior offensive assistant for the Buffalo Bills. During the season, wide receiver Sammy Watkins set Bills single-season rookie records for receptions (65) and receiving yards (982).
Prior to joining the Bills, Hostler spent six years (2008-2013) as the Baltimore Ravens’ wide receivers coach, including the team’s 2012 Super Bowl championship season. He joined the Ravens in 2008 after spending three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, serving as quarterbacks coach from 2005-06 and offensive coordinator in his final year.
Berbenich spent the last two seasons as the Colts’ offensive assistant. Hunter spent the last two seasons as the Colts’ assistant offensive line coach. White has served on the Colts’ staff for the last three years, first as the defensive quality control coach and as the assistant linebackers coach last season. Williams spent the last three seasons as the Colts’ wide receivers coach.
