After winning their season opener, the San Francisco 49ers haven’t taste winning since. Following today’s 26-6 loss to the Chicago Bears, the Niners are now losers of 11 straight. In the fourth quarter, head coach Chip Kelly elected to bench Colin Kaepernick for Blaine Gabbert.

“I thought we needed a spark,” Kelly stressed.

Kaepernick was caught off-guard.

“I was surprised. It wasn’t something I expected … It’s not my place to really argue on the sideline,” Kaepernick said. “I want to make sure I do what I can help this team win and that was the decision that was made so I’m going to support my teammates.”

After the season, Kaepernick will explore his options on the open market.
