The father of Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon after a shooting at a bar in Rock Hill, S.C.

David Morgan was arrested and in jail awaiting a bond hearing on Wednesday, Rock Hill Police Capt. Mark Bollinger said.

According to police, Morgan was removed from the Crazy Horse Showclub from sitting on the stage and was later spotted behind the property. He was seen allegedly firing at club employee Braxton Homesley, who returned fire.

After the incident, Morgan was at Piedmont Medical Center undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound to the shoulder with police picked him up.

Morgan was in prison while his son starred in high school in Rock Hill. His previous convictions include assault and battery and burglary. As a convicted felon, he was prohibited from possessing a gun.

Clowney, currently on the Texans’ inactive list, starred at South Carolina and was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Morgan could face up to 30 years in prison on the attempted murder charge and up to five years on the weapons charge.
