Chiefs waive DL Worthy
The Sports Xchange
The Kansas City Chiefs waived defensive lineman Jerel Worthy on Monday.
Worthy, a former second-round selection Green Bay Packers, spent two seasons with the Packers. Chiefs general manager John Dorsey was in the Packers front office when the team selected Worthy in the 2012 draft.
Worthy, 25, played 14 games and made four starts for the Packers as a rookie, recording 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble before tearing his ACL in the final week of the regular season. He made it back for two games in 2013 and was traded to the New England Patriots last August, but didn’t make the team out of camp. He then signed with the Chiefs but did not appear in a game.
