Chargers re-sign OT Dunlap to 4-year deal

Published

The San Diego Chargers agreed to terms on a four-year contract with tackle King Dunlap on Friday.

“I am glad to be back with the Chargers organization,” Dunlap said. “I can’t say thank you enough to Dean Spanos, as well as Tom Telesco, Coach McCoy and Coach Joe D (D’Alessandris) for helping this day to arrive. It’s an honor and a blessing and I’m ready to get back to work.”

The 6-foot-9, 330-pound Dunlap was the team’s Lineman of the Year in 2014 after starting all 16 games for the first time in his career.

“King has been top notch the last few years for us at left tackle,” said Charger quarterback Philip Rivers. “It’s very well-deserved for him personally and a huge signing for our team.”

A native of Nashville, Tenn., Dunlap was set to become an unrestricted free agent.
