CB Chekwa returns to Raiders
The Sports Xchange
Cornerback Chimdi Chekwa is back in Oakland, signing with the Raiders on Wednesday after briefly joining the New England Patriots.
To make room for Chekwa on the roster, the Raiders waived safety Terrell Pinson.
Chekwa became a free agent in March after four years with the Raiders and was signed by the Patriots, who released him on Monday.
Last season, Chekwa played in 10 games for the Raiders and had five tackles and two passes defensed. He also led Oakland in special teams tackles with nine.
Drafted in the fourth round by the Raiders in 2011, Chekwa has 35 tackles, six passes defensed and 20 special teams tackles in 32 career games and four starts with Oakland.
