Cardinals sign second player from Veteran Combine

Published

The Arizona Cardinals signed free-agent tight end Ifeanyi Momah to a one-year contract on Wednesday after he participated in the NFL Veteran Combine during the weekend in Tempe, Ariz.

Momah is the second player to land with the Cardinals from the Veteran Combine. On Monday, the team agreed to terms with wide receiver/kick returner Nathan Slaughter, who was the fastest player among the 105 at the combine, running a 4.45 40-yard dash.

The Cardinals did not disclose terms of Momah’s deal.

The 6-foot-7, 248-pound Momah was on the Cleveland Browns’ and Detroit Lions’ practice squads last season. He signed a futures contract on Dec. 30 with the Lions but was released Feb. 3.

In 2013 as a rookie free agent out of Boston College, Momah was with the Philadelphia Eagles during training camp but waived during the final cuts. He then signed a futures contract with the Eagles and was with the team during the 2014 preseason before he was cut again.

In 34 career games at Boston College, Momah had 39 receptions for 629 yards and six touchdowns.
