The Arizona Cardinals placed backup safety and special teams player Chris Clemons on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

Clemons was injured in last Sunday’s 42-17 victory over the Detroit Lions.

The team also elevated cornerback Cariel Brooks from the practice squad to the active roster.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Brooks signed with the Cardinals in May as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Adams State. After being released in the team’s final roster cut on Sept. 5, Brooks was re-signed to the practice squad the following day where he spent the first five weeks of the season.

In addition, the Cardinals signed safety Durell Eskridge to the practice squad.

The 6-3, 207-pound Eskridge entered the NFL this year with the New York Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent from Syracuse. He spent training camp and the preseason with the Jets until he was released on Sept. 5.
