Bucs WR Murphy out with torn ACL
The Sports Xchange
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Louis Murphy tore his right ACL in Sunday’s loss to the Washington Redskins.
“Minor setback for a major comeback,” Murphy told ESPN on Monday of the season-ending injury.
Murphy, a seven-year veteran, was hurt on a 29-yard catch and run play on Tampa Bay’s opening drive. Murphy limped off the field and was ruled out for the rest of the game.
Murphy, 28, has 41 catches for 578 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games since joining the Bucs before the 2014 season. He previously had spent time with the Oakland Raiders (2009-2011), Carolina Panthers (2012) and New York Giants (2013).
