Bucs retain three players, release OT Collins
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a series of roster moves on Tuesday, re-signing cornerback Leonard Johnson and safety Major Wright, tendering restricted free agent running back Bobby Rainey and releasing offensive tackle Anthony Collins.
Johnson, a restricted free agent, started three games and played in all 16 last season for the Buccaneers, accumulating 41 tackles, three passes defensed and three forced fumbles.
Wright played in 12 games and started seven for the Buccaneers last season, which was his first with the team after four years with the Chicago Bears. He had 51 tackles, including two for loss.
Rainey (5-8, 212) saw action in 15 games last year and started five. He rushed for 406 yards and one touchdown on 94 carries and added 33 receptions for 315 yards and one touchdown.
Collins started 10 games last season.
