Bucs’ Murphy, Spence sidelined as camp opens
The Sports Xchange
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed wide receiver Louis Murphy on the active/non-football injury list Friday and defensive tackle Akeem Spence on the active/physically unable to perform list.
Due to their distinction as active, both players still count on the 90-man roster for the Buccaneers, who opened training camp on Friday.
Murphy played in 11 games (three starts) last season and had 31 receptions for 380 yards and two touchdowns. He injured his ankle in a mishap that occurred away from team activities.
Spence played in 16 games in 2014, making 27 tackles and three sacks. He will be held out due to a back ailment.
