Bucs’ Martin, Verner doubtful for Sunday’s game

Published

on

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin and cornerback Alterraun Verner are listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, and wide receiver Vincent Jackson, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins

and defensive end Michael Johnson are among several Bucs players listed as questionable.

Martin did not participate in practice Friday and is likely to miss his second straight game with an ankle injury. He has rushed for 166 yards this season and has nine receptions for 54 yards.

Verner has started all eight games for the Bucs this season, but he has not practiced all week because of a hamstring problem and is also doubtful.

Starting offensive tackle Anthony Collins is also likely to miss his second straight game with a foot injury after missing practice all week. He is listed as doubtful.

The outlook is more optimistic for Jackson, who has caught 32 passes for 443 yards this season. He participated in Thursday’s practice on a limited basis and participated completely on Friday. He is listed as questionable with a knee injury.

The same is true of Johnson (hand) and linebacker Lavonte Davis (foot), both of whom had full participation in Friday’s practice and are listed as questionable.

Seferian-Jenkins, a starting tight end who has caught 13 passes for 168 yards, is also listed as questionable, although he had only limited participation in Friday’s practice because of a thumb injury.
