Browns Prepared for Mallett’s “Strong Arm”
It’s been almost four years since Ryan Mallett played in a meaningful game.
The lack of legitimate game tape on the Texans’ new starting quarterback is an issue, Cleveland coach Mike Pettine acknowledged Tuesday. But the Browns are fully aware of Mallett’s main asset.
“We know he has a huge arm,” Pettine said at the team’s practice facility. “And you can only look at so much preseason tape — he didn’t play a ton of reps in this year’s preseason; you go back to some of his New England stuff. But that’s the unknown: How much will their offense change with him in there?”
