The Cleveland Browns placed defensive back Tashaun Gipson on injured reserve on Saturday and promoted linebacker Scott Solomon from the practice squad to the active roster.

Gipson started the first 11 games of the season before sustaining a knee injury in the fourth quarter at the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 23. Despite missing the past three games, Gipson is tied for the NFL lead with six interceptions this season. He also has 52 tackles, eight pass breakups, one fumble recovery and a touchdown on an interception return.

Solomon has played 20 NFL games with the Tennessee Titans (2012), New York Jets (2013) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2014). He has 10 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He joined the Browns on Nov. 18 and spent the past four weeks on the practice squad.

Solomon was drafted in the seventh round by the Tennessee Titans in 2011 out of Rice.
