Broncos place Ball on IR, activate Trevathan
The Denver Broncos placed running back Montee Ball and safety Quinton Carter on injured reserve Saturday.
Denver also activated linebacker Danny Trevathan from injured reserve and promoted tight end Dominique Jones from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Ball rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown in five games (three starts) this season.
Carter had 21 tackles (17 solo), a sack and a fumble recovery in 11 games.
Trevathan has seven tackles (six solo) in two games (one start). He was inactive for Denver’s first three games and placed on injured reserve (designated for return) on Oct. 14 because of a knee injury.
Trevathan led the Broncos with a career-best 125 tackles (85 solo) in 2013.
Jones has played 12 NFL games (three starts) with the Indianapolis Colts (2012-13) and Kansas City Chiefs (2013). He has three catches for 42 yards.
