Broncos add veteran DL Fua
The Sports Xchange
The Denver Broncos signed nose tackle Sione Fua and waived punter/kicker Karl Schmitz on Thursday.
Fua, a five-year NFL veteran, played in two games for the Broncos in 2013 and had had one tackle.
In 40 career regular-season games with the Broncos, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns, Fua has 35 tackles and one forced fumble. He has made 12 starts.
Schmitz was waived after punter Britton Colquitt reached agreement on a contract with a salary reduction for the 2015 season.
The 28-year-old Schmitz was a rookie who hadn’t kicked in a game since 2008 for Jacksonville University.
