Broncos add RB Bibbs to roster

The Denver Broncos elevated running back Kapri Bibbs from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday and released tight end Richard Gordon.

The Broncos are 30th in the league in rushing, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. Denver had just two healthy running backs on the roster — C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman — for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Juwan Thompson was limited this week because of a hamstring injury.

The 5-foot-11, 203-pound Bibbs is a second-year player who spent four weeks of his rookie season in 2014 on Denver’s active roster. He was signed by the team as a college free agent from Colorado State.

Bibbs has not appeared in an NFL regular-season game, but he played seven preseason games for the Broncos during the last two years, totaling 111 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries (4.4. avg.).

“I’ll just say this,” Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Friday, “Kapri has been prepared to be a part of the game this week.”
