Brock Osweiler Just Wants To Have Fun
Find out what’s Brock Osweiler’s mindset heading into playoff game.
Back in Week 15, head coach Bill O’Brien made a gutsy call by benching Brock Osweiler in favor of Tom Savage. It worked as Savage led Houston back against Jacksonville.
Unfortunately, in Houston’s regular-season finale against the Tennessee Titans, Savage suffered a concussion and he’s officially been ruled out for their wild card matchup against the Oakland Raiders, which means Osweiler is back.
When being benched, one must assume your confidence is shot, but Osweiler has a new outlook on the game.
“I told myself, ‘If you get an opportunity to go back in, just go have fun,” Osweiler said. “Get back to the joy of football. Get back to what drew you into this sport at such a young age.’ I think when you’re able to play for the fun of the game, for the love of the game, passion comes with that.”
Osweiler is saying all of the right things now, but the only thing that matters is how he performs tomorrow afternoon in front of his home fans.
