PHILADELPHIA — Quarterback Sam Bradford is expected to make his debut with the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night in a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Bradford was acquired from the St. Louis Rams in the offseason as part of a trade that including sending quarterback Nick Foles to St. Louis.

After being the first overall pick in the 2010 draft, Bradford his career didn’t get off the ground in St. Louis when he was constantly sidelined by a series of injuries.

Bradford came into this season, after the trade, recovering from his second ACL injury (left knee), which took place the third week of last season.

Coach Chip Kelly would neither confirm nor deny talk that Bradford will start. Kelly said he would meet with his coaching staff to make that decision after Friday’s joint workout with the Ravens

Tim Tebow, who is battling Matt Barkley for the No. 3 quarterback job, took only a few reps in Thursday’s practice. Kelly said there are no plans to give Tebow any reps on special teams.

Meanwhile, outside linebacker Marcus Smith, the team’s first round draft pick last year, injured his right hamstring in Thursday’s practice and will miss an undetermined amount of time.

Smith, slated to be the third outside backer going into this season, was awaiting results of an MRI exam Thursday to help decide on how long it will take to return.

He was behind starting outsiders Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin on the depth chart.

Bryan Braman took a lot of reps at outside linebacker on Thursday following Smith’s injury. With Smith out, Braman is the top backup behind Barwin and Graham.

Braman is one of the league’s top special teams players, but has played only 109 defensive snaps in four years in the league.

Linebacker Kiko Alonso returned to practice Wednesday after missing nearly two weeks because of a concussion, but is not expected to play in the game.

However, Alonso hasn’t participated in any 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 work in the joint practices with the Ravens.
