The Buffalo Bills signed cornerback Nickell Robey to a contract extension Sunday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Robey was eligible to sign an extension after two seasons because he entered the league as an undrafted college free agent.

Robey joined the Bills from USC in April 2013. Since joining the Bills, he has played in all 32 games and made eight starts.

The 5-foot-7, 170-pound Robey, 23, has totaled 84 tackles, 18 passes defensed, four sacks and one interception in his two years with the team. In 2014, Robey ranked second on the team with eight passes defensed.

“Nickell Robey has been a productive and dependable cornerback for our team since we signed him in 2013,” Bills general manager Doug Whaley said in a statement. “I commend our scouting staff for identifying and signing a player of Nickell’s caliber in the undrafted college free agent period. Since entering the NFL, Nickell has worked hard and taken advantage of his opportunities to make plays when called upon.

“Under the tutelage of Rex Ryan and his coaching staff, we believe Nickell will continue to develop and make significant contributions within this defense. Our philosophy is to continue to reward our players. Signing Nickell to an extension is an example of this organization making a commitment to that plan.”
