Bills CB Brooks released from hospital
Buffalo Bills cornerback Ron Brooks was discharged from the hospital Monday after suffering a neck injury in Sunday’s 17-14 win over the Detroit Lions.
Brooks, who stayed overnight in a Detroit-area hospital, traveled back to the Buffalo accompanied by a member of the team’s training staff.
The Bills said that Brooks walked out of the hospital but did not have any further update on his status.
Brooks suffered the injury on a special-teams play while running downfield to cover a Bills punt in the first quarter of Sunday’s game. He was hit in his lower body by Lions safety Jerome Couplin, went flying into the air, spun upside down and landed directly on his head.
Brooks was placed on a spinal stabilization board by trainers and EMS before being carted off the field and then transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Brooks, 25, has played in each game this season as a reserve, making six tackles. He was a fourth-round pick of the Bills in 2012.
