Berry cleared to practice with Chiefs
The Sports Xchange
Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last December, was cleared to participate in Wednesday’s practice, the team announced Tuesday night.
Several rounds of testing were completed before Berry was granted permission to be on the practice field for Wednesday morning’s practice with quarterbacks, rookies and injured players.
Berry began treatment immediately after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma following Week 12 of the NFL regular season.
He concluded his final treatment in June. The Chiefs did not state whether Berry is now cancer-free.
Berry played in 60 games with the Chiefs, including 53 starts.
Head coach Andy Reid, head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder and Berry will speak to the media about the process on Wednesday.
