Bengals release QB Pryor
The Sports Xchange
The Cincinnati Bengals released quarterback Terrelle Pryor on Thursday.
It’s the third time in the past year that Pryor has been released by an NFL team. He spent time with the Seattle Seahawks last summer, and he was with the Kansas City Chiefs for four months earlier this year.
The Chiefs released him May 5, and the Bengals signed him May 10 after he tried out for them during their rookie minicamp.
Pryor had been battling AJ McCarron and Josh Johnson for a spot on the Bengals’ roster.
Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson was coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2011 when Pryor was drafted with a third-round pick in the supplemental draft.
Pryor played in 15 games (10 starts) for the Raiders over the 2011-13 seasons, including 11 games and nine starts in 2013. He has passed for 1,953 yards, nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions while rushing for 627 yards and three touchdowns.
