Bears, Raiders interested in Gase

Published

on

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who was scheduled to interview for the same position with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, reportedly has drawn interest from the new head coaches of the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders.

Gase worked with John Fox, now with the Bears, and Jack Del Rio, now with the Raiders, in Denver and could wind up continuing the relationship with one of them.

The Bears hired Fox as their head coach on Friday, just days after he parted ways with the Broncos, while Del Rio went from defensive coordinator in Denver to the top job in Oakland.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sunday that the Bears and Raiders have received permission to talk to Gase, who ran the Broncos’ offense for the last two years.

The 36-year-old Gase interviewed with Denver general manager John Elway, but the Broncos now appear focused on hiring Elway’s former teammate, Gary Kubiak, as head coach.

Gase also interviewed for the Atlanta Falcons’ head-coaching vacancy, but Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is reportedly the favorite.
